A few days back, I received a call from my former teacher in highschool. She was inquiring if I could deliver an inspirational speech for the school's awarding ceremony. Ano!!! Ako!! Magbibigay ng isang inspirational speech. After checking my time table with the school's awarding event, I agreed with their invite. Sayang kasi yung tawag nila, Smart to Globe pa naman yun tapos nakaprepaid pa.
That call was really out of the blue. It caught me off guard with no words to say. If that call was a bullet, I would have been dead by now. Even after the call, I still can't believe that I was asked to deliver a speech.
I already made a speech template for the event. Undecided pa kasi ako ngayon kung gawin ko ba yung speech in a formal or casual way or a combination. Should the message be in pure English, pure Tagalog or a combination? Should I prepare a speech or just let the words flow, extemporaneous ika nga?
Hindi naman pwedeng basta ko na lang sila bigyan ng "to give light to those who are living in the darkness" speech, it has to be more than that.
Im not really aiming for something that is purely inspirational. I'm trying to focus my message on something that will empower and motivate them. Sabi nga ni Sharon Cuneta,
"High school life, on my high school life
Ev'ry memory, kay ganda
High school days, oh my high school day
Are exciting, kay saya."
Ang ganda-ganda ng simula ng paragraph mo bigla kang kakanta ng "high school life, on my high school life"!! Paano pa kaya yang speech mo?!!
I'll be posting my speech after I delivered it on March 18.
