Wait lang...

Patience has always been my favorite virtue. I can wait all day for nothing and still managed to have a smile in my face. And I enjoyed waiting the most when paired up with an impatient person. They curse a lot, swear a lot and speak unimaginable numbers of profanity. It's funny to me because no matter of much they blaspheme all the name of the gods, they have no really no choice but to wait.

As a waitee for a long time now, I know if I'm going to wait long. If the attendee says "Ang hintayan ay 5 pm onwards" then expect to wait for eternity. A 7 pm concert starts really means you have to wait for two hours.

Another wonderful test of patience is waiting in line. A day is not complete kapag di ka pumila. And to make your waiting in line more exciting are the line jumpers. Pag tinapik mo sya para sabihang may pila, ang sagot pa nya ay, "Are you talking to me? Kasama nya ako". Haaay!!!

But, all in all, lining up is a good thing because it teaches humility, patience and a belief that no matter how successful you are, you still have to line up one way or the other sometimes. Part na talaga ng buhay natin ang pila, the only place where anybody can be number one. In time.

And speaking of time, it's time again to wait for the comments... Hehehe....

How much should you tip?

Suppose you ate in a restaurant and was very satisfied with the service, how much then should you give as a tip? Yan ang isa sa mga questions namin during one of our brainstorming sessions. Magkano nga ba? After an hour of discussion, we reached an agreement that na it should be based on a portion of your total bill. So kung hindi kayo satisfied, walang tip. Pag ok na service, 15%. Pag super ok, 20%.

Here's a twist sa problem. Add the tip to the total and divide kung ilan kayong magbabayad.

Just move the decimal one place to the left. Kung ang bill nyo ay 250 then 10% would be 25. Then take half of that para sa 5% which will be 12.50. Add 25 and 12.50 to get 37.50 which is now 15% of 250. Andali lang, di ba?

With this in my mind, lumalabas na masyado pala akong galante magtip sa barbero ko. 60 pesos ang haircut ko tapos I give a tip of 20 pesos kasi very satisfied ako sa service nya kahit na isang oras ang tagal ng paggupit. 20 pesos is 33% of 60.

Walking

This is one of my favorite pastime...walking. Here in the office, I rarely sits down. I'm always moving from one place to another. If I'm not in a hurry, instead of using the elevator, I would walk up or down the stairs even if it means walking five levels up or down. Then, sometimes, pag ayaw ko pang umuwi, I would go to Glorietta and walk around aimlessly for hours. When the gang want to meet-up, for example in Megamall at 3 pm, and I have so much free time, I would walk from EDSA-Guadalupe to SM Megamall. I'll be starting my walk at about 1:30 pm and reach the mall at around 2:30 pm. One time, the meeting place was SM North. I took the MRT from Ayala. Since maaga pa naman, naglakad na lang ako from Quezon Ave to SM North. Example, during heavy traffic instead of waiting but di nyo subukang maglakad. If the time you spent while waiting was sent in walking then mas mabilis kayong makakarating sa pupuntahan nyo.

Running

Sometimes, pag ayaw ko namang maglakad, I would run. Kaya nga when I buy shoes, I make sure na pwede syang pantakbo, leather man o hindi. Maganda rin ang takbo especially when traffic. Remember the "Jelly fish" blackout? I was at Pedro Gil when that event struck. The curfew in our dorm was 10 pm and 9:45 na ay papasok pa lang kami ng Quiapo. Super traffic na sa Quaipo, as in, stand still na talaga. Since di ko pa naiimbento noon yung "How-to-survive-after-curfew" thing ko, baba ako sa jeep and I ran as long as there was a ground. It was a race against time but I managed to made it inside UST.

Walk or Run?

Should you run or walk when its raining? If you run, think of all those extra raindrops that you are colliding with which you would otherwise have missed. On the other hand, if you walk you will be out in the rain for longer. My strategy in this kind of scenario is choose the option that will make you as dry as possible. So, therefore, I should run. Eh paano kung malakas ang hangin and the rain was falling at an angle?

It's not the distance between point A and point B that matters but how you make the journey between point A and point B.

Haaayy....

People from the forum were forcing me to create an account.... My think tank passed a unanimous decision for me to create an account.... My lucid dreaming state also wants me to create an account....

And so here I am!!!! Ano pa nga ba ang magagawa ko?!! Masaya na kayo!!!!!

What to call me???

At home, my three sisters call me "kuya" since I'm the eldest. "HOY KUYA!!!"
My parents also call me "kuya" kasi ako ang kanilang panganay na anak. "HOY KUYA!!!"
My second degree family member calls me "kumag". "HOY KUMAG!!!"
At the office, they called me "rence", contraction from my real name Lawrence. "HOY RENCE!!!"
My high school batchmate calls me "Kalaw", contraction from "Ka Lawrence". "HOY KALAW!!!"
In the Gamechannel circle, they call me "calculus", "calc", "tatay calculus", "tay". "HOY CALC!!!"

With hoy or without hoy, it does not matter kasi mapapalingon naman ako pag tinawag mo.

What to Expect?

Since nangyari na ang hindi dapat mangyari, I have no choice but to try my best to post something interesting. Nakakalito ang buhay ko, promise.
