10 Seconds

I don't know if you can call it a gift or talent but I seemed to have the eye to see 10 seconds into the future. Not really "see" into the future but a feeling on what will happen. Maybe my compulsion to anticipate things is the reason for this ability to be developed.

So what's good in having that 10-seconds window into the future? For one, you won't have to wait long for me to answer the phone. Hindi pa tapos yung first ring ay ako na agad ang kausap mo. Same goes with text and email messages. I also don't have to wait long in lines kasi may insight na ako kung alin ang mabilis. And it's rare for me to be late. Bihira kasi akong maka-encounter ng red lights. Never pati akong nasurprise sa mga surprise exams, surprise inspection at surprise party.

Sometimes, I would receive the "bewildering" looks from people during meetings. They are thinking of questions about the topic then suddenly I would discuss the answer without them asking about it. They would go like, "binabasa mo yata ang isip namin". Para tuloy nagiging magic show ang mga meetings namin.

There's also a downside especially when the future suddenly changes. Minsan may dala akong payong kasi akala ko uulan. I overbuy and "double-buy" things. When given instructions, sometimes, I don't pay much on details. When it comes to game especially card and video games, kasunod na agad sa akin ang "walang dayaan". Madalas ko ring kaaway ang mga documenters namin dito sa office. Two weeks ang nakaset para sa isang computer system pero after three days, ready for testing na agad yung version 1.

Right now, I'm trying to improve it by making the 10 into 15. And do you know what will happen 10 seconds from now? Well I do ... 10 seconds from now, you'll be placing a comment about this post.
